Wesely Thomas and Lundstrom & Associates completed a Design/Build research lab for Professor Nick Hutzler, Assistant Professor in the Caltech division of Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy (PMA) at Caltech. The project is located in the Downs-Lauritsen Building and comprises 2,030 SF of renovated lab space. The project is a fundamental physics lab with cryogenics, vacuum chambers, electronics, and lasers to control atoms and molecules for table-top experiments. The project had very strict requirements to be a stable environment with minimal vibration to assure precise measurements in atomic / molecular / optical systems.
